A Parade of Pink
To toast the sixth year of the city’s favourite awareness initiative, Peninsula in Pink, one of the hotel’s iconic MINI Coopers took to the streets of Hong Kong to promote the month-long campaign supporting the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry. One of the property’s chic duo of emerald-hued MINI Coopers was given a bright pink makeover for the occasion and sent off to zoom around the streets of Central, Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui’s bustling ferry pier neighbourhood with its signature Peninsula pageboys and pagegirls in tow.
A live social media campaign ensued, encouraging devoted Peninsula fans and curious denizens to keep an eye out for this latest rose-tinted MINI go-round series. Lucky passersby who spotted the newly pink MINI were encouraged to take and share their own photos, spreading the message with #PeninPink and #ArtofPink, and were also treated to delicious Peninsula macarons and postcards adorned with artwork by Chen Man, the hotel’s chosen artist for this year’s Art of Pink series.
These postcards showcased the interactive installations that the acclaimed multimedia artist crafted exclusively for The Peninsula Hotels, along with an explanation of the artwork and its correlation to core Peninsula in Pink values. Renowned for her enthralling and visually striking pieces, Man’s work is intended to spark discourse on breast cancer, a subject the Grande Dame aims to bring to the forefront of our collective consciousness.
